Mom’s Family Stories
MA is a single mother with 6 children. Mom has triple negative breast cancer for which she underwent a partial left mastectomy and 4 rounds of chemo in a clinical trial during her pregnancy.
Newborn (4 weeks) was affected by maternal antineoplastic chemotherapy. Mom’s work hours have been impacted due to caring for her children and herself as a single parent while on her own.
This mother has been through a lot this year financially, physically, and emotionally and we believe her family would be a great fit for financial assistance this Mother’s Day through The Maple Point Middle School Walk-A-Thon in support of The Barkann Foundation’s Mother’s Day Program.
In the past few months, AE and her family have experienced many losses. The rental home where Mom and her daughter (A) lived had a collapsed main sewer pipe which has caused her to search for a new home unexpected and quickly.
(A) has several diagnoses such as developmental delay, brain injury and feeding difficulties that mom has to attend to on a daily basis.
Mom’s work hours have been impacted as (A) needs to be cared for around the clock.
AE and her family would be a great fit for financial assistance this Mother’s Day through The Maple Point Middle School Walk-A-Thon in support of The Barkann Foundation’s Mother’s Day Program.
K is a 4 year old who is diagnosed with spina bifida, a lifelong condition that causes paralysis of the lower legs, problems with bowel and bladder and developmental delays. Due to her spina bifida, K walks with leg braces and a walker. In addition to her spina bifida, K has sickle cell disease. K resides with her parents and 3 siblings. Her younger brother also suffers from severe sickle cell disease and is frequently hospitalized. Dad works away from the home for many months at a time and mom is responsible for the children’s needs. Mom has been unable to return to work due to K’s needs and her brother’s medical issues. She would greatly benefit from some financial assistance to help support the family’s needs such as rent, utilities and personal items.
On April 30th the Fischer family’s lives changed in a big way. Francis Fischer, 46 suffered a stroke, he is currently at Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia in the ICU in serious condition.
Francis is the husband of Heather Fischer and the father of Francis Jr. 16 years old and Anthony 14 years old. Francis works for Neshaminy School District in the Facilities department, Heather is an instructional assistant at Maple Point Middle School and holds a job at Pennswood Village.
The Fischers are a family who would support anyone in need and at this time they need all the support that we can give.
