Ryan Barnes is 8 years old and will be a 3rd grader this school coming school year. He loves being involved with The Barkann Foundation with his family.
Ryan has organized a very special virtual fundraiser to raise money for 3 very special local families through The Barkann Foundation’s summer Program.
Ryan loves giving to others in need and loves the feeling he gets in his heart when he knows he has made children and their parents feel better in a time of need.
Ryan and his family will be donating a $500 David Witchell Salon & Spa Gift Card and Personal Makover with David himself, as well as an Autographed Jason Kelce 16×20 Framed Photograph of “The Speech” on the Art Museum Steps to 2 lucky donors who make a donation to the 3 families whose stories can be found below.
Ryan will pick the two lucky Winners on Friday, August 7th.

Thank you for joining Ryan to help support three very special families who need our love and support during these very challenging times.
Here are three families that will be directly impacted by your love and generosity with immediate financial assistance in a time of need:
(L) is a single mother of three children. One of the children has various special health care needs.
Mom’s first child (MN) who is seriously ill, was born prematurely with cerebral palsy and diagnosed with congenital malformation of skull and face bones and arterial septal defect.
When (L) was 16 years old both of her parents passed away leaving her to live independently on her own. (L) entered into a relationship with a very special gentlemen who helped raise her two children, and they had a baby girl together.
Three months after giving birth to her baby girl, dad passed away in his sleep unexpectedly.
(L) now suffers from depression, however she continues to push forward on her own to take care of her children.
(L) asked for some financial support to help her with her rent which she has recently fallen behind on.
(L) never asks for help or assistance, she tries her best to do everything for her children.
If the Barkann Foundation and it’s very special supporters can help Mom with financial support during these very challenging times it would certainly provide (L) a great boost while she continues to take care of her family.
(DK) is a single mother with three children with twin baby girls and a six year old daughter. The twins are now 11 months old. They were hospitalized since birth in July of 2019 up until June of this year.
They were born at 23 weeks old and have significant medical needs.
Both girls have tracheostomys and are on ventilators due to respiratory failure. Both girls require 24/7 medical care.
Before the twins were born and the pandemic hit, (DK) worked in a daycare. She continued to work in the daycare until the COVID-19 pandemic closed the daycare.
Due to the twins medical needs and the COVID-19 pandemic, (DK) does not know if or when she will be able to return to work. While she does want to return work (though the daycare she worked for has not reopened yet), she is also incredibly nervous about being out in the community given the medical fragility of her daughters and the potential devastation that could occur if they were to be exposed to COVID-19.
Receiving any financial support right now would be greatly beneficial to (DK) and her family, and will also provide Mom more time to ensure the safety of her daughters while coming up with a long term plan in regards to employment.
(G) is 8 years old and was born with a genetic anomaly and a chromosomal abnormality which requires many specialist appointments that occur monthly at CHOP.
(G) has endured so much as a young girl, and had complex medical needs. (G)’s parents are from Brazil, Dad works in construction and mother works cleaning houses, however, both are out of work due to impact of COVID-19 over the last five months.
Mom and Dad have fallen behind in their rent and utility bills and could really benefit from immediate financial assistance.
This is a wonderful, hard- working family, who take amazing care of their daughter.
Any help you can provide is greatly appreciated at this time.
