Hi! My Name is Lily Brand and I have chosen to support The Barkann Family Healing Hearts Foundation leading up to my Bat Mitzvah which I am really excited about it.
I have been involved with my family with The Barkann Foundation since I was a little girl. I really like how you can see the families you are supporting and know that you are helping children many of whom are my age during a time of need.
I am asking all of my family and friends to help join me and my family to support a very special local family who is really struggling during these challenging times. You can read about the family and what they are going through in the story below.
If you would consider making a small donation that we can share with this family that would mean so much to me.
Thank you for being such a big part of my life and supporting me every step of the way, you have taught me how powerful the gift of giving is and how it can make a difference for those in need and make my heart grow fuller.

Ms. H. has always worked in retail or fast food, but has difficulty maintaining consistent employment because of the many medical and behavioral health appointments that she attends on a weekly basis with her children.
Ms. H. was most recently employed as a manager at a fast food restaurant prior to the Covid-19 pandemic. Mom had to leave that job when her 19 year old daughter (M) had mental health issues requiring inpatient hospitalization.
Throughout the Covid-19 Pandemic and Shutdown, Ms. H. has not been able to work as the children are not in school and she has no one to help care for them. Mom is currently two months behind in rent and utilities due to being out of work.
Ms. H. is a caring parent who always keeps a positive attitude despite these very tough circumstances and challenges for her family.
The family’s current housing is less than ideal. They are residing in Section 8 housing in a home that has been poorly maintained by the landlord. The family has had to deal with mice and recently a portion of the ceiling in Ms. H’s bedroom fell onto her youngest daughter (A) while she was playing. (A) is okay physically, but Ms. H. is trying to locate alternate housing options.
Mom’s Social Worker is helping her to the best of her ability to locate community housing resources, which, are quite limited.
