Hi! My Name is Izzy Roberts and I have chosen to support The Barkann Family Healing Hearts Foundation leading up to my Bat Mitzvah which in November which I am really excited about.
I have been involved with my family with The Barkann Foundation since I was a little girl. I really like how you can see the families you are supporting and know that you are helping children many of whom are my age during a time of need.
I am asking all of my family and friends to help join me and my family to support a very special local family who is really struggling during these challenging times. You can read about the family and what they are going through in the story below.
If you would consider making a small donation that we can share with this family that would mean so much to me.
Thank you for being such a big part of my life and supporting me every step of the way, you have taught me how powerful the gift of giving is and how it can make a difference for those in need and make my heart grow fuller.
Love, Izzy Roberts

Family Story
We have a family that we are working with that has, frankly, undergone tremendous hardship the past year. Our patient, “DJ” is a 13 mo. boy with Hirschsprung’s Disease was born in August of 2019. He was in the NICU for several weeks immediately after birth and had significant care needs after discharge. His father, who was primary breadwinner for the family of 7, suddenly and unexpectedly passed away of cardiac arrest in November of 2019. Mother had started a job while pregnant and therefore hadn’t earned paid time off and technically eligible for FMLS. She was devastated at her husband’s passing and due to the extended time and income lost from the baby’s hospitalization as well as time off for her husband’s death, she became financially unstable. DJ has recently developed complications and required additional surgeries and another extended hospital stay. Mom ran out of paid time off during his most recent admission and has, unfortunately, gotten behind on bills again. She’s been lucky that her income wasn’t too impacted by Covid-19, but sadly she has fallen behind on her monthly bills. She would be incredibly grateful for any assistance the Roberts family and The Barkann Foundation might be able to provide at this time.
We understand that times are incredibly hard on everyone and Mom is so grateful that you can provide to her family at this time.
